Week 6 of the NFL was exciting, both on the field and in the PickChamps contest lobby. From botched fake punts (or something like that) to Toby Gerhart to Landry Jones, the NFL remained as unpredictable – and exciting – as ever.
There were some very competitive contests over the weekend, with some amazing creative prop picks. Here’s a recap of some of the week’s best highlights on PickChamps:
First, a shout out to user Kevin Joerger, easily the biggest winner of the week. Kevin used the Live-Pick rules to make upwards of 90 picks, constantly re-investing his winnings to his advantage and taking home several top prizes.
Spotonspotswood had a great day picking touchdowns as the stat of choice in the Sun-Mon NFL Bump & Run contest, capitalizing on receiving TDs from Eric Decker and Kamar Aiken to climb the leaderboard. Playing the game of risk, Spot went against the grain and picked Cam Newton to throw for at most 1 TD. Not only did the Panthers win to stay undefeated, but Newton only passed for one TD while having one of his worst statistical performances of the season. It’s got the making of a special season when your QB plays average and you still knock off the defending NFC champs. Nice call there, Spot!
There were no losers in our $10 Deposit = $10 Bonus “Everyone Wins” Contest, but there were some bigger winners than others. Using a Monday Night Football Riley Cooper TD to his advantage, g4r21i0n1d8u7 made a big move up to 6th place. He started the night outside of the top 10, but his risky pick of Cooper to have at least 1 TD paid off handsomely. His pick was worth 100 fantasy points alone, propelling him into a solid finish by scoring big during MNF. Well done!
Finally, let’s give a shout out to a PickChamps newcomer, Dr9Fingers, who came out on top of the NFL Free To Pay contest. He wisely chose Alshon Jeffrey to go for over 100 yards and Robert Turbin to find the endzone at least once. It sounds like Doc has a knack for PickChamps, and let’s see if he can bring home some cash in a Week 7 paid contest.
